Visual Studio Code 1.95: AI-Driven Copilot Edits and Multi-Account Support

November 5, 2024

On October 29, 2024, Microsoft announced the release of Visual Studio Code 1.95, introducing Copilot Edits and multi-account support. The update, available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, leverages GitHub Copilot to enhance coding efficiency.

Copilot Edits provide AI-driven suggestions for code modifications across multiple files, integrating directly with the editor for seamless review and application. This feature aims to improve the coding workflow with smart, context-aware suggestions.

Additionally, the update includes support for using multiple GitHub accounts simultaneously. This functionality manages different tasks such as Settings Sync and Pull Requests more efficiently by allowing users to log into different accounts for varied purposes.

Version 1.95 builds upon its predecessor, 1.94, which improved file search capabilities. A recent minor update to 1.95.1 addressed three issues discovered in the initial release. Various other improvements were also introduced to refine the overall user experience.

Visual Studio Code 1.95 brought significant enhancements like AI-powered Copilot Edits and multi-account support, confirming Microsoft’s commitment to integrating AI to streamline coding processes.
